Week 8 SEC Picks – LSU to Win and Cover (we hope)

Here we go again, LSUtopia’s picks for all of the SEC games this week. BMOT50 will attempt to gain back some ground that he lost last week. But, he’s a retard, so I suspect he’ll screw the pooch again this week!

A (*) indicates that the team will not cover the spread.

Diagnosing the Tigers: Weekly analysis from the Bone Doc

Well….watching that game was about as fun as swift kick in the balls or even having an enema every day for a week.  We got totally manhandled by Florida and ran completely into a buzzsaw.  They knocked us down on the mat during the opening bell and we were never really able to recover.

I’ll start with the negatives

-We were not ready to go.  We came out tenative, unsure, scared, and had the deer in headlights look.  I don’t know why that was because we have played in some pretty damn big games over the past couple of years.

Week 7 SEC Picks Results – We don’t know dick

Below you will find the results from our first week of SEC picks.  In short, we suck.  As a reminder, whoever loses at the end of the season will have to upload a video of themselves doing something ridiculous.  I’m thinking along the lines of snorting wasabi or eating some animals nuts or something.  Anyway, on to the results.

SU = Straight Up    ATS = Against the Spread

TheOmniscient: 2-3 SU, 3-2 ATS, 5-5 overall

LSU drops to 13,14 in AP and Coaches Polls

The polls are a funny thing.  LSU dropped to 13th in the AP and 14th in Coaches this week after getting raped by Florida in the swamp.  I cant totally fault the pollsters for dropping us that far after getting pounded by 30, however, we find ourselves behind teams like BYU, Missouri, Utah, Ohio State, and even Georgia. Are we really worse than those guys?

What are the polls really saying?  Are they ranking how good a team really is?  Does an undefeated record automatically put you ahead of someone with a loss?  Sure, Florida slapped us around, but I’d bet my favorite testicle that we’d take BYU, Utah, or Ohio State….all of whom are ranked ahead of us.  Not to mention that Florida might just be the best team in the country.  One of the better polls around is the one found at CollegeFooballNews where they rank the teams….now this is a crazy concept….on how good the teams actually are!  If you take a look, the Tigers only fell to 7th.

I’d love to chat with a pollster to see what he/she is actually looking for when ranking a team.  I know the record is a major factor, but the talent on the team and the schedule should count equally as much.

GotLesticles Week 7 Picks – Results: 4-3, Season: 9-5

Well, if you bet with me this weekend, you squeaked by in the black. I was 0.5 pt away from being 3-4 as USC won 28-0 and I had ASU +28.5.  My other 3 winners were BIG winners and my 3 losers weren’t even close.   I can’t really figure out the OU/Texas game. If you were to tell me before the game that Bradford would throw for 380 yds and 5 TDs I’d lay the 6.5 all day. Similar to LSU, Mizzou got exposed as a fraud and maybe OK State is little better than I thought.

That wraps up another winning weekend for me, 5000.

GotLesticles Week 7 Picks: Who needs a 401(k) when you’ve got these gems?

OKLAHOMA STATE @ MISSOURI (-14): PICK: OSU +14

All you need to know about this game is the O/U is 79.5. LOL. That’s hilarious, but about right.  Neither team will stop the other, and the team holding the ball last might be the winner. In 4 of the last 5 outings this game has been settled by a touchdown or less.  I look for about 1,000 yds of offense and a Cowboy cover.

ARIZONA ST. @ USC (-28.5): PICK: ARIZONA ST. +28.5

LSU Gameday

LSU Gameday, fuck yeah. Despite it being a road game, my nipples are hard and even though its 9am, bourbon sounds like the best beverage to accompany my eggs benedict.  Good luck today Tigers, I will be in full obnoxious asshole mode in t-minus 5 hours.

Diagnosing the Tigers: Weekly analysis from the Bone Doc

Hello All,

Well, the Tigers had the week off so I had a chance for my blood pressure to stay under 200 for the weekend.   Being that there was no game to analyze I thought I might throw in a little background about myself and then some quick thoughts on what I saw from other SEC contenders this weekend.

First off like all of the rest of the originators on this site, I am a huge LSU fan.  However, unlike the rest of them, I actually have a split personality when it comes to LSU football.   My friends can confirm that I am an otherwise quiet, calm, and under control person when it comes to everyday life and my job as an orthopaedic resident.  However, when LSU football comes around I am anything but that.  I yell at the TV,  I am super critical, I use words that would make a sailor blush, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.  I don’t drink (too much), smoke, do drugs, or have any other bad habits.  My one vice and true obsession is LSU athletics (with football being far and above number one).  Now to some team analysis.
